Setting up your travel profile

Your travel profile defines you as a traveller. This is the way bookers will differentiate you from the other planners in the same region. Use this as an opportunity to get your personality across. This is similar to a dating profile, where people look for the right match. If a booker knows the sort of person you are, they will have an understanding of the kind of trip you would plan. This will enable you to consistently plan the sorts of trips that you know and understand, for the type of traveller that wants the same thing.

How to market your itinerary

The key here is to talk about the type of trip you would plan, without giving the specifics away. As you have multiple options for your itinerary (ie pre-built or custom), you should highlight what is included in the pre-built one, and what you’re open to including the custom one. You should confirm the length of time, time of year (if applicable) and location in the pre-built as a minimum, to enable to booker to have an awareness of what they’re looking for. We would also recommend you entice them with snippets of the trip, or even photos! For example: “If you want the best 2 week road trip Italy has to offer, including a wine tasting stop off, a private boat tour and a cheese making class, I’m your planner!”

How to put together a good itinerary

Whilst we have given a template, this is customisable. The pre-built one should include everything you mentioned (ie accommodation, restaurants, activities). If you want to add local contact details that is ok! use your experiences, what’s worked well and what hasn’t. Listen to the booker! As they say the customer is always right, so while you loved your kayaking activity it might not work for your booker. Remember how much you loved the trip, there’s a reason you want to plan it for others! Convey this passion to the booker. Adding one liners to certain items keeps the feel personal- eg ‘the best pasta in the world at this restaurant, the most beautiful views I’ve seen in the entire country’’

Our Values

How does the money side work?

For a pre-built itinerary you should have a fixed price, however for custom this can differ based on requirements. You can quote through the platform and send this to the booker. Once they pay, the money will be held with Perito for 7 days. When you send the itinerary, ensure to ask the planner for feedback to capture any tweaks that may be needed to seal your deal. We will then take a 12.5% fee.

Refunds

You should mention on your profile that whilst you do not offer refunds (unless you want to), you are open to itinerary changes in the event that the booker is unhappy. If you are clear in what is being offered, and the booker wants a refund, ask them to speak with the Perito team.

Shout out on socials!

When you have been on an amazing trip, and people are jealous, make sure to send them to your page on Perito! This could be as simple as putting a link on your instagram story to your planner page, or creating a tiktok to direct people to Perito. We will all grow together as you help spread the word!
